The Association for Operations Management
APICS—The Association for Operations Management is a not-for-profit
international educational organization respected throughout the world
for its education and professional certification programs. With more
than 70,000 individual and corporate members in 20,000 companies
worldwide, APICS is dedicated to using education to improve the business
bottom line.
APICS is recognized globally as:
- the source of knowledge and expertise for manufacturing and
service industries across the entire supply chain in such areas as
materials management, information services, purchasing and quality.
- the leading provider of high-quality, cutting-edge educational
programs that advance organizational success in a changing,
competitive marketplace
- a successful developer of two internationally recognized
certification programs, Certified in Production and Inventory
Management (CPIM) and Certified in Integrated Resource Management (CIRM)
- a distribution center for hundreds of business management
publications and educational materials
- a source of solutions, support, and networking local chapters,
workshops, symposia, and the annual APICS International Conference
and Exposition.
Founded in 1957 as the American Production and Inventory Control
Society, APICS has since expanded its focus to include a full range of
programs and materials on individual and organizational education,
standards of excellence, and integrated resource management. To reflect
this new direction, we are now known as APICS—The Association for
Operations Management.

North Texas APICS
Mission: To become the recognized experts in NorthTexas for credible and reliable training, forward looking data driven knowledge and innovate learning in supply chain management, operations management, and logistics within five years.
Vision: To be the preeminent leader in providing supply chain management, operations management, and logistics knowledge and training.
The North texas APICS chapter offers a variety of activities and educational opportunities to our members and to any interested persons. Our Professional Development Meetings, which are held the first Thursday of each month August through June, which features excellent speakers and topics, good food, and a chance to network with other supply chain professionals and learn what other companies are doing. Our educational offerings are extensive. We offer public and private certification review courses for both CPIM and CSCP.
Our chapter benefits from an active and very strong Board of Directors whose efforts have been both enthusiastic and impactful. Opportunities to serve on the Board or volunteer to support the Board are available to any interested member.
Our chapter is proud in its achievement of the Chapter Benchmarking and Reporting (C-BAR) Platinum Award, which is the highest level a chapter can be recognized for. Chapters are judged yearly on the quality of the chapter's efforts to achieve excellence in chapter management and can be recognized at Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze award levels.
